AODA ONLINE TRAINING
In 2005, the Province of Ontario introduced the Accessibility For Ontarians With Disabilities Act (AODA). This act relates to key items such as providing accessible service for all Ontarians with disabilities.
Effective January, 2012, all private sector organizations employing more than 20 individuals must ensure that they have complied in areas such as:
Developing, implementing and posting policies.
Allow individuals to use their own assistive devices to access your property and services.
Creating a barrier-free environment.
Reporting practices.
Regardless of your service industry, even if you employ less than 20 individuals, at the minimum, you must at least provide training and implementation.
As security professionals we work in a diverse range of environments, encountering numerous daily challenges. Acting as a contracted service provider our staff work within the parameters of all laws utilizing the tools and policies provided/established by each client and our agency.
Through our years of service we have always recognized the importance of extending the same courtesy and level of professionalism on the properties of each client to those individuals with disabilities. It has been standard practice and included in our training process to do such.
In addition, as an authorized training entity to provide the mandatory Security Guard Course, a specific section of the program focuses on dealing with individuals with disabilities and/or various impairments.
Recognizing the diversity and availability of our staff as well as new applicants, we continue to offer all training programs through two different platforms, in-class and on-line. Two years ago we entered into an exclusive partnership with an online facilitator to offer a variety of training outside the class room for those unable to commit to in class studies, doing such from the convenience of their own environment.
We are pleased to announce that our on-line AODA training is now available. This module is straight forward, interactive, may be completed within 40-50 minutes with a proof of completion certificate provided upon completion at a very cost effective rate.
